In 1995 Keith attended a workshop on men's role in ending rape and was immediately engaged with the program. He realized the impact he could have with his male peers on campus and the gender equity movement in general. He soon began presenting workshops and is now a nationally recognized speaker and consultant. Keith has spent the past nine years presenting nationally on engaging college men in sexual assault prevention at more than 50 colleges and universities. In addition to this work, Keith has been invited to present on diversity and social justice education at numerous national conferences and has written several articles on these issues. Keith received his B. A. degree in Social Studies along with an education minor and teaching license from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. He also earned his M. S. degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University. Keith received his PhD from the College Student Personnel Administration program at the University of Maryland, where he completed his dissertation "Putting my man face on": A grounded theory of college men's gender identity development, which was recently recognized as ACPA Dissertation of the Year. His scholarship interests include diversity and social justice education and college men's issues from a feminist and social justice perspective. Keith is a national leader in social justice education having recently founded and serving as Chair for ACPA's Commission for Social Justice Educators. He is a national leader on sustainability in higher education, focusing on the integration of environmental health, social justice, and strong economies. He is currently the Director of Campus Life at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN where he supervises the areas of residential life, campus activities, new student orientation, and campus conduct. He is also an affiliate faculty member in the Leadership in Student Affairs program at the University of St. Thomas, where he teaches graduate courses on diversity and social justice in higher education. He has worked in Greek Life, Residence Life, and Academic Affairs in addition to teaching high school, undergraduate, and graduate courses in diversity and social justice. Keith founded and advised the Men Against Rape Society at the University of Delaware for which he was honored as a Vagina Warrior by the cast of the Vagina Monologues at UD in 2004 for his efforts "fighting for women's safety and choice." In 2005 Keith was honored with the Rebecca Williams Award for Commitment to Social Change at the University of Maryland - College Park. In 2006 Keith was honored by Equality Now for his courage working on the frontlines of the gender equity movement. Recently Keith has recieved national recognition for his leadership on sustainability in higher education, integrating healthy environments, social justice, and strong economies. He has also been recognized for his Outstanding Contributions to both the Standing Committee on Multicultural Affairs and the Commission for Social Justice Educators by ACPA.
